CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT OVERVIEW:
Performs essential duties and responsibilities of a medical assistant as well as carrying out all assignments given by the Physician, NP, PA or Lead Nurse. Accountable for all patient care he/she gives during a shift. Must be in good physical and mental health. Responsible for adhering to all Standards of Nursing Care and for promoting teamwork among co-workers.

a.Willingness to work under close supervision.
b.Ability to follow written or verbal instructions effectively.
c.Ability to communicate verbally person to person, write legibly.

e.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, ICD-9 Manual, and physician orders.
f.Ability to communicate effectively with the public, employees and practitioners.
g.Understanding of arithmetic. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
h.Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
a.Medial Assistant Certification preferred.
b.Previous medical assistant experience in an office based practice of 3 to 5 years preferred.
