RN or LVN 7P-7A - Medical/Surgical Services
RN Overview:
The Nurse utilizes the nursing process for the delivery of nursing care to patients in the hospital during his/her shift. The Nurse is also responsible for meeting the established standards of nursing care, solving patient care issues and promoting collaboration among the disciplines as well as providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons.

Charge Nurse Specific:
SUMMARY: The charge RN utilizes the nursing process to guide and direct nursing care on an assigned shift. The charge RN is also responsible for managing assigned personnel, solving patient care issues, and promoting collaboration among disciplines. Provides supervision of the unit with general direction from the department Director. Maintains effective, efficient, and professional communication and rapport with personnel, physicians, patients, and visitors.

Education and/or Experience:
Prefer a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) and two to three years related experience and/or training. Must have leadership and management experience and skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Must currently hold or be eligible for Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Must maintain a current basic CPR certification, and current certifications required by individual departments.
