Manager, SMMC Clinics - SMMC Clinics
Summary:
Responsible for managing the operations and performance of the primary care and specialty care clinics as well as managing human, financial and capital resources.

Manager Specific Expectations:
-Assists with the management of a specific department, under the direction of the Appropriate Level of Authority.
-Management activities may include those involved with operations and/or staffing coordination.
-Can assist with performance appraisals and budget activities as directed by the Appropriate Level of Authority.
-Provides direct supervision to the department Monday � Friday, 8:00 a.m. � 5:00 p.m.
-Has authority to delegate tasks relating to daily operations

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages 5 to 15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience Requirements:
-High School Diploma.
-Graduate of an accredited college with a bachelor�s degree preferred.
-7+ years of progressive management experience in a private practice or medical group setting required.

Qualification Requirements:

-Knowledge of current medical terminology in order to communicate with physicians, staff, and patients.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as professional journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and government regulations.
-Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, clients, customers, and the general public.
-Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of people, both on a one-on-one basis and in meetings and group presentations; must be able to relate to and work with ill, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile people.
-Ability to anticipate and react calmly to emergency situations.
-Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
-Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
-Ability to make independent decisions and delegate responsibility and duties.
-Ability to follow direction.
-Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail systems, and web based programs.
